I have taken on an important new goal: running the Cigna Falmouth Road Race on Sunday, August 10. The race is 10K (that’s 7 miles)! I decided to make this commitment for two reasons:
1) This time last year, due to our little bundle of joy, I weighed almost 50 pounds more than I do today. Running the race is a great way to show how far I have come physically in less than a year. Plus, if this body can birth an almost 9 pound baby, I can run 7 miles!
2) I want to support a cause I believe in: skin cancer awareness and education. Therefore, I am running the race for the Melanoma Foundation of New England. (This is where you come in! )
My goal is to raise $1,000 for the Foundation by running this race. Please consider supporting me; your contributions will spur me on when I reach a half-way point and desperately want to give up! And, you’ll be lending your support to a very important cause–one that is near and dear to my heart and to my entire family. Visit my fundraising page to learn more! Thanks so much!
