Weekly Roundup

A slow week at Red Shutters, my friends…But, it’s a busy week in my non-online life: work is insane (big deadline in three weeks), the house renovations are progressing (I selected kitchen counter tops and the wallpaper went up–it’s gorgeous!), and my mom is back in the hospital (tough, but she will be OK and is great spirits).

The picture above is of our backyard, taken yesterday morning. It’s so peaceful, and the trees are elegant. They make me want to sit in silence and gaze at them, a cup of coffee in my hand (so says the girl who fled to the city for college because I craved the hustle and bustle).
While I’m reflecting on those trees, I’ll also be thinking of our Weekly Roundup

I never saw a discontented tree. They grip the ground as though they liked it,
and though fast rooted they travel about as far as we do. They go wandering forth in all direction with every wind, going and coming like ourselves,
traveling with us around the sun two million miles a day,
and through space heaven knows how fast and far!
