From the Archives

By now, you know that I’ve got my Mom on my brain this week.
So, this week’s “From the Archives,” is mom-centered.
That’s my Mom in the center, and she is flanked on the right by my Aunt Antoinette, one of my Mom’s oldest friends (50+ years!), and Antoinette’s Mom. They are dressed up for Antoinette’s wedding. It’s the early 1980s, and it was my first wedding. It was wonderful. My Mom, the matron of honor, looked so glamorous, and I remember sneaking into Antoinette’s room as she got dressed for her big day.  The memory is filled with romance and anticipation–just like a wedding day should be. I share this photo as a homage to all of the wedding mania in the media these days (two royal weddings in 2011!). Do you remember the first wedding you attended?

A hundred hearts would be too few
To carry all my love for you.
