G went in for her 4-month check-up this week, and all is fine. Here are the numbers:
Height (or length since she can’t stand yet): 24.5 inches (50%)
Weight: 15 pounds, 6 ounces (90%)
Head Circumference: 42.9 cm (90%)
And this is how she compares to R at 4 months:
Height: 25.5 inches
Weight: 16 pounds, 14 ounces
Head: 43 cm.
G is doing great, adjusting well to day care (I went back to work this week) and striving to perfect the baby ab crunch (that’s just as it sounds: a baby sit-up). We took off her swaddle earlier this week since she spent most of the night trying to take it off. As a result, getting her to fall asleep, and stay asleep, has been a bit of a challenge. The next step is moving her out of our room and in with R.
Speaking of R, he moved into a toddler (AKA “the big boy bed”) two weeks ago, and so far, is doing really well. He continues to love to read and is exploring Christmas books now, including a story about the birth of Jesus that I read as a child and an Anne Geddes version of a “Partridge in a Pear Tree” which can only be read (by me) by singing very loudly (much to everyone’s chagrin). He’s a huge fan of the “Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer” song, and has been asking for a birthday cake (with candles and hats) for Baby Jesus for Christmas. Sounds like a good idea to us, so Uncle Mike, Grandma, and I have been discussing adding a cake to Christmas dinner. He’s all boy (trucks! buses!), and I often wonder where my baby went.
Gotta go…someone is lobbying for a snack…..
